Colloquia

Our department holds a weekly colloquium.  We invite both Canadian and International researchers to share their research with faculty and students.  The atmosphere is friendly, and all are welcome! For names of invitees and topics see our list of colloquia.

Nerenberg Lecture

We also host the annual Nerenberg Lecture at Western every spring.  This public lecture series seeks to highlight the importance of mathematics in everyday life. Past Nerenberg speakers include physicist Roger Penrose, BlackBerry founder Mike Lazaridis, and Canadian astronaut Steve MacLean.  We invite mathematicians of all ages and all abilities to attend!
