As the ashes of those two (cancelled) Unix Maple jobs (that I mentioned to you
in a previous email message) turn to dust, something new breathes promise,
finally, this week.

After some (minor) corrections overseas, cyberspace found itself yet again
visited by casa files, some zipped, some tarred and some encoded. But the
journey was finally successful and casa now rests in my account and is
accessible via Maple. As well, the examples for the Groebner basis package,
the only ones I am interested in and have time for right now, seem to work
without previous errors which arose last week.

What is next expected of these weary travellers is efficiency and accuracy
and first of all, applicability, to my work!

This, and the last message, are intended as updates for the progess, so called,
and I am hopeful that, given that this package is useful for the system I am
looking at, casa is faster than the existing Groebner procedures in Maple.

Now to put casa travellers to work -- they should be adjusted to their new
environment by now.
