The scope of this workshop:

Due to both fundamental and technological reasons, there is strong desire to understand the behavior of complex macromolecular and biological soft matter systems. From a theoretical point of view, this task is highly nontrivial since processes in these systems take place over a huge range of length and time scales, while current modeling and analytical techniques are feasible over relatively limited scales only.

These systems often belong to the class of so-called complex fluids which are characterized by their multicomponent nature and simultaneous presence of several, often unseparable, time and length scales. The presence of many time and length scales is the crux of soft matter and biological modeling.

The goal of this meeting is to bring together some of the world's leading experts in multiscale modeling of soft and biological matter to foster discussions, exchange of ideas, and new foster collaborations.

The workshop talks cover an exceptionally broad range of multiscale modeling from particle based coarse-graining to field theoretical methods.

We kindly ask all the participants to take care of their travel arrangements and accommodation. Some helpful links for finding a hotel & arriving to CECAM are listed below. If you need to apply for a visa to particate the workshop, please contact the organizers as early as possible.
